"Message in a Bottle"

Message in a Bottle
Dear Reader,
I have never felt so susceptible to happiness, nor so alone.
I feel every touch of the wind magnified,
Each ray of sunlight as a rush of warmth.
I smell the smells of cities carried miles over the oceans.
I hear the sounds of sneakers running down stairs.
I have no worries for myself; there is food and drink aplenty.
I know that one day, a ship will come.
I only worry that when I return to land, I will shatter.

In truth, I know that I will not
But oh! the strength of my ache for land
